　　安是个在纽约执业的女心理医师，生活寂寞空虚，却发现自已卷入一场谋杀案，事情由病人伊芙的感情问题开始，安每次听完伊芙倾吐，总会莫名奇妙做连串反覆恶梦，饱受困扰的她求助于医师里欧。接著她认识热情男子道格并产生恋情，却发觉道格是伊芙的男友，而道格被指控是谋杀伊芙的最大嫌犯，而安和里欧夫妇在调查过程，惊讶发现安的另一病患画家强尼也牵连此案。本片是部剧情错综复杂、能抽丝剥茧的奇情推理谋杀片，片中虽多巧合但细嚼后却合情合理颇具说服力，意外的结局令人心服，参加演出的众星群均为硬里子演员，全片一气呵成绝无冷场。
