　　如果没有看AReal Summer，并不会对欣赏 Capturing Mary有太大影响。这个故事是说女作家 Mary年纪轻轻就显露才华，为一家星期天报纸写专栏，以“年轻人的声音”自居。她被邀请到 Joe’s Palace中的大宅参加名流艺术家的晚会，遭遇了一个神秘且具有强大影响力的男人Greville。Mary被Greville的神秘感吸引，然而面对他的步步逼近的精神上的操纵，她坚决地拒绝了。她的事业从此碰壁，写作陷入低潮。多年以后Mary已经重建自己的事业，却一直无法走出Greville的阴影，为逃避精神上的压力而酗酒。直到有一天她终于鼓足勇气，面对过去，重返久违的大宅，看门人Joe为她打开了大门……
