　　生活在郊外别墅区的医生克莱格·兰德利（杰西·麦特卡尔菲 Jesse Metcalfe 饰）和妻子伊莉丝（埃丽卡·克里斯滕森 Erika Christensen 饰）过着优哉游哉的中产生活，他们有一个6岁的儿子本杰明，一家三口的生活美满幸福。但是这天堂般的美好被名叫约翰·卡兹洛夫斯基（比尔·莫斯利 Bill Moseley 饰）的男人打破，他绑架了本杰明并将之残忍杀害。突如其来的惨剧令兰德利夫妇无法承受，而法庭的非㊟㊟判决更令他们几近崩溃。
