简　　介

　　居住在亚利桑那州凤凰城的年轻女秘书玛丽莲·克雷恩（Anne Heche 饰）与来自加州的男人山姆·卢米斯（Viggo Mortensen 饰）相恋。他们的恋爱门路并非风平浪静，玛丽莲胡想和爱人成婚，但山姆却必须将支出用于前期的供养费，美好的婚姻指日可待。某天，玛丽莲受老板之托照顾四十万现金去银行存款。难耐生活的压制，她携款逃离，预备用这笔钱与山姆展开新的生活。玛丽莲一路驾车流亡，终因卑劣天气而停息脚步。她来到一家汽车旅店休息，遭到年轻的男仆人诺曼·贝茨（Vince Vaughn 饰）的接待，却不知一场噩梦才刚刚起头……
