　　住在弗吉尼亚乡下的罗莎丽（凯特·波斯沃斯 Kate Bosworth 饰）是小猪仔超市的普通员工，生活虽然波澜不惊，却让她充满了幻想，罗莎丽疯狂迷恋英俊帅气的明星泰德·汉密尔顿（乔什·杜哈明 Josh Duhamel 饰），无时无刻不渴望与其见面。某天，即会从天而降。现实中的泰德与其在银幕上塑造的好男人形象截然相反，他养尊处优，浪荡不羁，负面新闻层出不穷。为了改变他的形象，泰德的团队策划一个为贫困儿童捐款的活动，有幸被选中的人可以与泰德共处一天。罗莎丽有幸当选，曾经远在天边的偶像竟然即将出现在自己面前。
