　　坐落在新泽西州新瓦克落后街区的JFK高中是一所公立学校，在那里求学的是一些有特殊需要的学生，包括自闭症患者和身体患有残疾的孩子等等。米诺(Janet Mino)和她班上的自闭症学生相处已经有四年。2012年，这些学生毕业的日子到了，将彻底告别公立学校系统为他们所创造的拥有安全感的环境。《保存最好的秘密》纪录了米诺女士和她的学生们在毕业之前一年半时间里的经历。时间越来越紧迫，这些年轻人必须在成人世界中找找自己的位置，譬如说一份能胜任的工作，否则他们就会落得像许许多多的自闭症患者一样的下场——枯坐在家、被福利院收容或者流浪街头。
