　　一辆长途大巴在路上抛锚，离婚的女人斯黛西娅（Fairuza Balk 菲路安?巴克 饰）不顾危险，决定徒步前往十几英里以外的汽车旅馆。其余等待的众人不久迎来一辆怪物卡车，波蒂（Laurene Landon 饰）和丹尼（Malcolm Kennard 饰）决定搭乘卡车，前往最近的服务去寻找帮助。却未料到司机吉姆（Michael Moriarty 饰）竟是一个公路连环杀手……
而继续留守在大巴旁边的三个人也运气不佳，他们遭遇了徒步旅行的年轻人（Warren Kole 饰）——另一个杀人不眨眼的家伙。这群人的命运将会如何？而徒步前往旅馆的斯黛西娅又能否安全到达？
