　　本片讲述了一位黑人文员Frank与白人离婚女子Julie的婚姻故事，而Julie的前夫则认定这样一场婚姻将对孩子产生负面影响，企图将Julie与其所生的女儿带走，法庭上争夺抚养权的一幕是本片㊟㊟，催人泪下。跨种族婚姻是当时的禁忌题材，本片在六十年代可以说是一次非常大胆的尝试。女主角Barbara Barrie凭借此片中的精湛演出荣获1964年戛纳电影节最佳女演员奖，电影在次年奥斯卡奖上荣获最佳原创剧本提名。
