　　吉姆(汤玛斯 霍维尔饰)在路上搭载了一名陌生男子约翰(鲁格 豪尔饰)，吉姆原先认为漫漫长路有人相伴蛮不错的，但是约翰却主动透露他是一名连续杀人犯，吉姆当然请他下车。原以为这段插曲就此结束，但是约翰却不肯放过吉姆，他在高速公路上玩起猫捉老鼠的游戏，不断挑战吉姆的神经，同时又将过往的骑士及警察大卸八块，并将凶杀线索指向吉姆。吉姆在不断挑衅中，决定对约翰展开复仇……
