　　海瑟·汤普森（克斯汀·克鲁克）是一名家庭主妇，和性情冷淡的丈夫生活在郊区，两人之间毫无感情。忍无可忍的海瑟终于决定离家出走。在一间夜店，她遇到了过了很多年派对狂生活的劳埃德·布伊斯特（亚当辛克莱尔），后者是一名瘾君子。海瑟在劳埃德的身上找到了她迫切寻找的东西，两个人坠入爱河。然而，海瑟很难分辨出这种感觉究竟是毒品，还是爱情。
　　影片还有另外一条主线，劳埃德由于欠债而被一位名叫做索罗（卡罗·洛塔）的神秘人物追杀，后者交给了他贩毒的任务。行动进行的很糟糕，差点让他失去海瑟，劳埃德终于幡然悔悟，决定改邪归正。然而这一切是否来的太晚？

　　《㊟㊟》（Ecstasy）改编自埃尔文·威尔什（Irvine Welsh）的短篇小说《不败之身》（The Undefeated），后者也是90年代关于毒品的经典影片《猜火车》的小说原作者和编剧。《㊟㊟》由加拿大演罗博·海顿（Rob Heydon）执导，他曾经执导过100多部广告和MV以及纪录片《走的更远》，但本片是他的剧情长片处女秀。
　　《不败之身》来自于威尔什1996年发表的短片集《Ecstasy》，全名是《Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance 》（狂迷：关于化学罗曼史的三个故事），这里的“化学罗曼史”显然指的是毒品。《不败之身》是其中最长的一片故事，讲述了一名瘾君子与一名家庭主妇在夜店里相遇而发生的故事。这本书发表后不久就被加拿大剧作家Keith Wyatt改变成舞台剧，在加拿大和爱丁堡等地演出获得了巨大的成功。埃尔文·威尔什本人也观看了舞台剧的版本，表示这是对他的作品“最优秀的改编”。早在2000年，加拿大导演罗博·海顿就买下了短篇小说的电影改编版权，计划把它搬上银幕，但为了筹集资金以及让剧本得到威尔什本人的认可，他最终花了10年时间直到2011年才把电影拍成。
