　　安提戈涅的父母在偷渡入境加拿大的途中丧生，留下他们兄妹四人和祖母相依为命。安提戈涅是个优等生，是这个家庭的粘合剂。在警察逮捕他们的兄弟波利尼斯的过程中，安提戈涅的的哥哥埃特奥克勒被误杀。为了维护她仅存的兄弟，安提戈涅决定代替波利尼斯入狱为他争取时间出逃，而就在她以为自己在为维护家庭责任牺牲时，关于她的兄弟一直过着双重生活的真相渐渐被揭开。电影取材自古希腊悲剧“安提戈涅”，结合2008年的真实社会新闻，导演苏菲·德拉斯佩迫使人们关注看似开放的加拿大㊟㊟制度下底层难民的生存现状。
