　　天真的19岁少女茱莉亚，对风度翩翩的警员吉米一见锺情，不可自拔，两人随即坠入热恋。不久茱莉亚发现自己怀孕了，她原本以为自己是世界上最快乐的女人了，没想到此时晴天霹雳的消息传来，她发现吉米尚未与妻子离婚，而且吉米还拒绝承认茱莉亚肚子里的宝宝是他的。茱莉亚因此请求进行生父确认诉讼程序，尽管这个举动带给吉米莫大压力，但吉米仍继续与茱莉亚约会。没想到在生父确认诉讼公开调查结果的前几天，茱莉亚却被绑架后遭枪杀了。由于一切证据都对吉米不利，吉米被警方视为头号嫌犯。但出人意外的是，案子在法庭审理过程中，律师却将矛头指向吉米的继子德瑞克·
