　　转眼来到2009年。居住在加利福尼亚的美丽女子苏珊·戈登（查瑞丝玛·卡朋特 Chari㊟㊟a Carpenter 饰）是美国著名的推理小说作家，因某种原因，她的新作迟迟无法完成。在出版商查尔斯（理查德·瑞尼斯福德 Richard Raynesford 饰）的帮助下，她和丈夫大卫（保罗·斯卡福 Paul Sculfor 饰）搬到英国肯特郡一桩乡间别墅居住。远离了城市的喧嚣，苏珊得到久违的平静。然而好景不长，她接连看到奇怪的景象，而周遭的怪异事件也令她恐慌非常。事态愈演愈烈，一切似乎和当年的惨剧息息相关……
