　　赌城拉斯维加斯的一家著名赌场，近日决定举办一场奖金高达一千万美元的牌术比赛，此消息一经传出便轰动全美赌坛，来自全国各地的赌术高手纷纷摩拳擦掌、聚集到此地，意图一决高下。
　　前来参加比赛的赌坛巨匠们不仅赌术上个个身手不凡，个性方面也千奇百怪，其中有以宰牲为乐的赌坛名将"德国佬"(沃纳·赫尔佐格饰)，身为五个孩子的母亲的职业牌手蕾恩(切瑞尔·海尼斯饰)，同为职业牌手、为与妹妹蕾恩比拼赌术而特来参赛的拉里(大卫·克罗斯饰)，有着轻微精神问题和严重自闭症、但却被公认为数学天才的哈罗德(克利斯·帕内尔饰)，因夺得一场在线牌局的冠军而获得此次比赛的入场卷、其实对真实牌局一窍不通的安迪(理查德·凯德)，还有从祖父继承来大名鼎鼎的"兔脚赌场"、现在却因大量负债而不得不亲自参加比赛的赌场老板"独眼龙"杰克(伍迪·哈里森饰)...各路高手齐聚赌场，个个对一千万美元虎视眈眈，在这场势均力敌的终极较量中，不仅牌局本身精彩纷呈，高手们言语之间的暗中较量也火花四射、笑料迭出，终究大奖花落谁家，还要看最后一场终极牌局的结果。
